AS G321: Print Brief
Preliminary Exercise: Produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriately laid-out text and a masthead. Additionally candidates must produce a mock-up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of the program.
Main Task: the front page, contents and double page spread of a new music magazine.
I have chosen Billboard magazine as inspiration for creating my own music magazine because their main target audience is people aged 14-18, I know this as its a mainstream pop magazine therefore the main people that listen to that style of music is teenagers. I also chose this genre because I fit in the middle of the target audience and I can use my own personal preferences and incorporate them into my own magazine. When starting my preliminary task I can experiment with the colour pallet and layout of a typical magazine aimed at teenagers and use the best results for my main task.
